About
Power Service, Inc. had its modest beginnings in 1954 when Clyde W. Sissman, Sr. and his son Clyde Sissman, Jr. purchased the bankrupt Buda Engine Sales and Service in Casper, WY. Clyde Sr. had extensive experience with engines in the oil industry and installed the first internal combustion engine on a drilling rig in the Rockies in 1932. Clyde Jr. brought a mechanical engineering degree and several years of work experience as a heavy engine mechanic to their venture. For seven years they operated from a truck garage at 355 South Ash Street near downtown Casper. Their primary business was repairing oilfield pumping engines. They also sold v-belt and chain drives, pumps and compressors. Except for contracts with the Air Force for work on Atlas Missile sites and Onan generator work, most of their business was in oil drilling and production.
