MISSION: to increase the participation of women and girls in outdoor activities.
SheJumps offers free and low-cost access to outdoor education and activities for women and girls of all backgrounds, ages, and abilities. Our vision is to offer technical education for women to feel more self-sufficient in the backcountry. Our program services include: Outdoor Education, Community Initiatives, the Alpine Finishing School (a ski mountaineering course for women), and Wild Skills: a free day camp for girls to learn outdoor survival skills that encourage adventure and build confidence.
SheJumps is almost entirely volunteer-run. Despite limited resources, we successfully hosted 154 events in 2015 that created more than 3,000 new opportunities for women and girls to get outside and play. We believe in working with our local communities to offer outdoor education programming to other organizations who would not normally have access, including Boys & Girls Clubs, Girls Inc., and other organizations that specialize in after-school care for refugee and at-risk youth.
