The Daughters of Charity are a community of women (Sisters) who devote their lives to serving the poorest and most abandoned individuals in today’s society. The 400 Sisters of the Daughters of Charity Province of St. Louise are supported by 800+ employees organization-wide across the Daughters of Charity Province of St. Louise, through its operating entities Daughters of Charity Ministries and its nine Sponsored Works.
The nine Sponsored Works include Elizabeth Seton High School, Mother Seton School, St. Vincent Early Learning Center, Seton Center, St. Joseph Services, Seton Harvest, Proyecto Juan Diego, Seton Heritage Ministries, and Marillac St. Vincent Family Services.
The Daughters of the Province serve as far north as Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and as far south as Brownsville, Texas. The Sisters serve in varying ministries including social services, education, prevention of trafficking, health care, prison ministry, and more.
The Province of St. Louise is one of 94 worldwide Provinces of the Daughters of Charity. Founded in 1633 in Paris, France, there are nearly 14,000 Daughters of Charity in the world today.
