In 1995, Charles Phan and his family opened a small 45-seat restaurant in the Mission district in San Francisco with a focus on quality Vietnamese street food in a modern setting. With Phan innovative design and bold flavors, The Slanted Door was quickly recognized locally and nationally within 3 months of opening. The Slanted Door moved its flagship location to the Ferry Building in 2004.
