Welcome to the colourful world of HARIBO; Europe’s largest and most successful manufacturer of sugar confectionery. The company’s name is an acronym and dates back to 1920 when it was founded by Hans Riegel Senior in Bonn, Germany — HA (Hans) RI (Riegel) BO (Bonn). Today HARIBO is still a family business run by the Riegel family. From 15 manufacturing sites throughout the world, HARIBO exports its range of gums & jellies, soft & chewy, liquorice and marshmallow products to over 90 different countries, employing approximately 6000 people. In the UK, HARIBO is particularly famous for its top selling hanging bags Starmix and Tangfastics. It is also known for its soft and chewy MAOAM products as well as the traditional liquorice Pontefract Cakes.
