About
Urban Science was founded in 1977 by James A. Anderson, a civil engineer working at the Center for Urban Studies at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Anderson pioneered a number of innovative computer-generated mapping solutions including a software program that enabled General Motors' Cadillac Motor Division to electronically map luxury car buyers in its Chicago region. He also helped the City of Detroit develop its first Geographical Information System (GIS). From these initial successes, the company grew to provide solutions that optimize the performance of sales and distribution channels. At the same time, we expanded throughout the United States and then globally, as multi-national and overseas clients sought our expertise.
