Founded in 2008, and part of the parent organization Self-Help, we are a community development credit union. We serve anyone seeking affordable, responsible financial services, but are particularly committed to serving low-wealth and underserved communities and families. .
Our mission is to create and protect ownership and economic opportunity for all, especially people of color, women, rural residents, and low-wealth families and communities.
Self-Help strengthens underserved communities by providing financing to homebuyers, nonprofits, childcare centers, community health facilities, public charter schools, and residential and commercial real estate projects.
In total, Self-Help, Self-Help Federal Credit Union, and the entire Self-Help family have provided $7 billion in financing to more than 120,000 families, individuals, and businesses, and currently provide basic financial services to more than 117,000 individuals.
