The First National Bank of River Falls’ history is closely tied to the growth of the community it serves. The bank was one of many enterprises begun by one of River Falls’ pioneer settlers.The original First National Bank of River Falls opened its doors in 1904. The bank was located in what was known as the “post-office building” and that first year rented at the unbelievable rate of $35 a month. The bank remained open even during the depression years. Story has it that President Jefferson Smith placed a large Federal Reserve bag of money on his desk and offered to give any customer their money if they didn’t feel comfortable leaving it in the bank.The First National Bank of River Falls Address
