Nearly 85 years ago, Augie Hinchcliff and Joe Haney had the idea to build a Chevrolet dealership that was based on the principles of respect, integrity, and trust. The two became partners, and H&H Chevrolet was born on April 4, 1930.
While Haney sold out early in the company’s history, the Hinchcliff family has continued to conduct business in the same manner. Bob and Bill Hinchcliff, Augie’s sons, joined the business in 1946 and 1952 respectively. The three Hinchcliffs managed the dealership in South Omaha until they moved to 84th & L Street in 1968. At that time, Bob and Bill completed the buy-out of their father, and successfully grew the dealership into one of the largest in the area.
Key events over the past 30 years:
In the mid-70’s, Bill’s son Steve Hinchcliff, and Bob’s son-in-law Mike Kenefick began their careers at H&H.
In 1988, Steve and cousin Holli Kenefick became stockholders in the corporation.
In 1999, Steve and Holli completed the buy-out of their fathers.
In 2007, Steve bought Holli’s share of the business and is now sole owner of the company.
Many things have changed since 1930, while many things have not. H&H has always worked hard to employ some of the most professional, respected and dedicated associates in the Midwest. H&H remains focused on customer satisfaction AND volume selling. We still accomplish our goals the same old-fashioned way- -with respect, integrity and trust.
