About
Windmill Microlending is a registered charity serving newcomers to Canada since 2005. We offer low-interest microloans of up to $15,000 to help skilled immigrants and refugees restart their careers in Canada. Funded by the public and private sector, Windmill is Canada's largest and most successful microlending program for immigrants and refugees. Our vision is for every newcomer to reach their economic potential. We believe the economic integration of new Canadians is key to Canada's success and prosperity. Windmill supports immigrants and refugees who come to Canada with education, skills and experience but struggle to resume their careers here. Our clients may be under-employed because they have low income and/or no Canadian credit history. Windmill loans are made to people who are trustworthy and are of good character. We lend to people not based on where they are today, but where we believe they will be in the future.
