In October 2002, the assets of Michigan Seamless Tube were purchased by Russell Maier, the former CEO of Republic Engineered Steels, Inc., and Atlas Holdings FRM LLC for an immediate start-up. The MSTube team took the facility from hot idle to production in nine working days and by the fourteenth working day the employees were hired and producing seamless tubes for immediate delivery. MSTube successfully resumed production on November 15, 2002 and shipped the first order on November 25, 2002. Michigan Seamless Tube has over 200 years of industry experience in upper management.
