About
Tommy Nobis Center has been empowering people through employment since 1977. Cofounders Tommy Nobis, Bobbie Knopf, and Joyce Slaughter realized that options for students with disabilities were limited after high school, so they worked together to create Tommy Nobis Center. Fueled by the vision of supportive communities where people with disabilities are afforded the opportunity to work, Tommy Nobis Center has helped more than 25,000 people with disabilities find and keep meaningful jobs. \n\nâ?¢ Tommy Nobis Center provides comprehensive vocational rehabilitation services to individuals with disabilities in the metro Atlanta community. Through Tommy Nobis Center's programs, participants have the opportunity to train or gain employment at community businesses including WellStar, Owens & Minor, Kroger, and Café Blends. Café Blends is a partnership with Asbury Automotive Group that focuses specifically on hiring individuals on the autism spectrum and â??Blending Autism into the Workplace.â?? Tommy Nobis Center hires, trains and supports young adults as baristas at participating dealerships. Tommy Nobis Center also offers business solutions including fulfillment and production solutions, and houses a 40,000-square foot warehouse equipped with six loading docks, forklifts, shrink wrappers, heat sealers and more. \n\nâ?¢ Nobis Enterprises provides employment as a federal and state contractor to the Environmental Protection Agency, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Dobbins Air Reserve Base, United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, Georgia Enterprises, Social Security Administration, Corps of Engineers, and Department of Justice.
