Lack of access to modern energy and crop failure are the major drivers of poverty in rural India. Oorja is a for-profit social enterprise founded in 2016. We are a purpose-driven project developer and technology integrator of decentralised renewable energy systems (mini-grids). We design and install solar-powered mini-grids for businesses, agriculture and community institutions in rural India that lead to improved livelihoods, job creation and access to services.
