About
WTNB is an intrastate bank headquartered in Midland, Texas. Our mission is to provide outstanding banking services to our loyal customers in West Texas while increasing the long-term value of our owners' investment. WTNB was chartered in 2000 and is a result of a merger between three independent banks. The bank is a wholly owned subsidiary of First West Texas Bancshares, Inc. (FWTBS), a one-bank holding company located in Midland, Texas. WTNB offers a full range of personal and commercial banking and related financial products and services through its West Texas branch network. Services include business and household accounts, consumer, commercial and industrial loans, mortgages, certificates of deposit, and other banking services. We are a 21st century bank with roots going back to 1904. We are as modern as image processing, internet banking, bill presentment, and calling centers, yet we continue to deliver friendly, personal service. WTNB's history began with the acquisition of the First National Bank of Pecos in 1982. That bank was founded in 1907 and has a rich lore in the Trans Pecos region. Their interesting history tells a storied success in livestock and commercial lending. Through the acquisition of the Seminole National Bank in 1984, WTNB increased its involvement with West Texas oil, cotton, and peanut producers. In 1998 WTNB acquired First National Bank of Alpine, chartered in 1904, to extend its reach into the vast and beautiful Big Bend area. We have now extended our reach as far south as Terlingua, as we continue the rich traditions of the exceptional institutions that have become West Texas National Bank.
