n 1970, Cargolux Airlines International S.A. started operations with a few Canadair CL-44 freighters. Over 40 years later, Cargolux is Europe’s biggest all-cargo airline with a fleet of modern Boeing 747-400 and 747-8 freighters. The company was launch customer and the world’s first operator of both aircraft types and uses its modern fleet and a number of trucking contractors to move valuable and time-sensitive commodities on its worldwide network that covers some 90 destinations. Cargolux has more than 85 offices in over 50 countries. Its shareholders today are Luxair (43.4%), Qatar Airways (35.0%), BCEE (10.9%) and SNCI (10.7%).
