About
The Museum of Science & History (MOSH), a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, has been part of Jacksonville, Florida’s cultural and educational landscape for more than 70 years. The Museum leverages a vibrant chemistry of exhibits and programs that work together to engage visitors of all ages and fulfill MOSH’s mission of inspiring the joy of lifelong learning by bringing to life the sciences and regional history. MOSH combines traveling, core and signature exhibits aligned with relevant programming through the Bryan-Gooding Planetarium, JEA Science Theater, Florida Naturalist’s Center, school and group tours, camps, camp-ins, outreaches and on-floor demonstrations. The Museum’s collection of more than 25,000 artifacts, managed under the American Alliance of Museum’s standards for Accredited Museums, qualifies MOSH as a valuable steward for preserving and presenting Northeast Florida’s history. And, MOSH’s Bryan-Gooding Planetarium is the largest single-lens digital dome planetarium in the United States. Immediate access to the most current space science knowledge available to the public sets MOSH in place as a regional expert and community resource.
