With the disruption in state government, some Washington County services have been affected. This is an overview of county services as of July 1: County parks are all open. Campground spaces are limited. The Resource Rooms in the Workforce Center are closed. However, other services in the Workforce Center remain functioning. Most community services will continue, and the county will continue to accept complaints of reports of child abuse and neglect as well as elder abuse and exploitation. The Washington County license centers remain open and are able to issue motor vehicle registration tabs and license plates, to accept driver's license applications, and process birth and death records and marriage licenses. Passport application acceptance and photos continue to be available. (State offices that offer driver's license written tests and road tests will not be available as those state offices are closed) Fishing and hunting licenses are not available, and all-terrain vehicle and boat registration are not available, as those state registration systems have been shut down. Washington County Branch libraries remain open; they will be closed Monday, July 4, for the holiday. Sheriff's Office services are operational. Courts, although they are state functions, will remain open, and the Office of the County Attorney remains open.Washington County Library Address
