About
Among the myriad of Residential Treatment Centers nationwide, not one has been designed and created explicitly for adopted youth and their families. Until now. Current studies indicate that 30 to 40% of the clients at adolescent Residential Treatment Centers are adopted. Thousands of these adopted youth and their families are treated to a ?cookie cutter? approach geared for the general adolescent population and not to their specific needs. We operate out of an adoption-based paradigm that defines our entire program: ? An understanding of the dynamics of the adoption triad. ? Clinical and Group Living staff trained in working with the unique needs of adopted adolescents in a variety of modalities, including individual, group, and family clinical treatment. ? Participation in our unique and proprietary Mustang Alley Wild Mustang Program - the students work with and train wild mustangs to be adopted out. ? Recreational and other activities that are designed to facilitate trust and attachment. ? Increased family interaction through video-conferencing and our open campus - visits are always encouraged and never restricted. ? Resources to facilitate the integration of each part of the adoption triad when available. ? Psychoeducation and workshops for family members specific to the adopted family's needs.
