About
The Sleeman brewing tradition in Canada extends back to 1834 when John H. Sleeman arrived in Ontario from Cornwall, England. By 1851, he started the first Sleeman brewery to be located in Guelph, Ontario, brewing small 100-barrel batches. \n\nThat passion still exists today in the 1,100 people that work for Sleeman Breweries Ltd. Every aspect of the beer we produce is reflective of the talented team across Canada. While we all maintain the entrepreneurial spirit engrained in the Sleeman name, we’re meticulous about the beer and the brands that we care for on daily basis. \n\nSleeman Breweries was built by bringing together three of Canada’s best craft breweries - Unibroue in Chambly, QC; Sleeman in Guelph, ON; Okanagan Spring in Vernon, BC and Wild Rose in Calgary, AB . Sapporo Breweries Ltd., known for its rigorous Japanese brewing standards, acquired Sleeman in 2006, because the companies shared the same level of passion and discipline for high quality beer. Today, the company produces some of the most coveted beer brands in the country and we are happy to make them available in retailers, restaurants and bars across Canada.\n\nToday, Sleeman Breweries is Canada’s third largest national brewery. We may have become a bigger company, but we have never lost sight of our original vision to bring Canadians better beer. We’ve built an incredible portfolio of beer brands in Canada; great Canadian brands such as Sleeman, Okanagan Spring, Wild Rose and Unibroue combined with world-class beers such as Sapporo, Old Milwaukee and Pabst Blue Ribbon. No matter what you’re looking for in a beer, we’re sure we have something you’ll love.
