WELL was started to address some of the many challenges that can be found in Canadian primary healthcare. Canada's primary healthcare industry is significantly under-digitized, underinvested, and underimagined. Patients are frustrated with long wait times and physicians are overworked and burdened by operational challenges. WELL's mission is to positively impact health outcomes by leveraging technology to empower and support patients and doctors. To date, WELL owns and operates 19 primary care clinics in British Columbia that sees greater than 600,000 patient visits per year. In 2019, the company also acquired three EMR providers, NerdEMR, OSCARprn, and KAI Innovations making WELL the third largest EMR provider in Canada. WELL's EMR providers support thousands of physicians who serve greater than 15 million patient profiles across Canada. WELL aims to leverage technology such as patient engagement tools, precision medicine, and even artificial intelligence, to improve health outcomes as well as the primary healthcare experience for both patients and physicians.
