About
The Fund for Global Human Rights equips grassroots activists across the globe with the financial and strategic support they need to improve lives, mobilize movements, and build a better future for their communities. Since 2002, the Fund has raised and invested over $100 million into the work of community activists in more than 25 countries, providing these bold local leaders with the funding, tools, and contacts they need to tackle some of the world’s greatest challenges. As a result, millions of people worldwide now have access to basic resources and opportunities to participate fully and equally in society. The Fund provides long-term financial support to sustain local human rights groups, technical assistance to strengthen their abilities, and emergency grants to keep them safe when their security is threatened. We organize convenings where defenders exchange knowledge and brainstorm solutions to common challenges faced across countries or regions. And we help raise the visibility of activists in international fora by facilitating media interviews, supporting their participation in key summits, and promoting their voices through our community of supporters. We envision a world where all people live with dignity and can secure their rights. By investing in those on the front lines of human rights struggles, we help build stronger, more resilient movements that can take on abusive actors—and win.
