The City of Green River is located in the southwestern corner of Wyoming, and serves as the county-seat to Sweetwater County. The City of Green River is a great place to live, work, play, and raise a family.

The City of Green River is approximately 172 miles, driving east on I-80, from Salt Lake City, Utah. The City is operated under the Council-Administrator form of government with an elected Mayor and six elected Council Members. Green River is divided into three wards, with two Council Members representing each ward. The City Administrator is responsible for implementing the Council’s policies and managing the City’s day-to-day operations.
