Parkway started in 1945 when power plant operator, Elton Achterhof started wiring local homes and businesses. By 1958 Achterhof had partnered with Casey Oonk and had eight employees and a thriving business. To keep customers satisfied, Achterhof and Oonk insisted on an educated workforce. They encouraged employees to attend seminars and classes, many of them held at Parkway. They also insisted on strenuous apprenticeships. The high standards paid off.
