Gaines and Company was founded in 1954 by W.L. Gaines Sr. The company began doing small subdivision jobs in Baltimore County and expanded as the County grew in the 50's and 60's. Since 1997 the company has been the top producing utility contractor in the State of Maryland. The editors of the Engineering News-Record, a respected industry publication, recently rated us Maryland's #1 underground utility contractor in their ranking of the top 600 Specialty Contractors in the U.S. We have made their list of the Top 20 Utility Contractors in the nation for the last seven years running.
