About
The Clarence Valley is a place of outstanding natural beauty and diversity, from lush rainforests to unspoilt beaches and fertile river plains. We have the equivalent of 496 full time staff which includes 250 outdoor personnel, 246 indoor and 121 (predominately part time support staff) working in community care. The population is expected to grow by about 1.6% (about 850 people a year). Using either growth or housing numbers (2.5 per household) the Clarence Valley will have an extra 17,000 people by 2031. To cater for this expected growth, Council has rezoned sufficient land to accommodate this 7,100 housing target for release over the next 20 years and this is supported by over $200 million investment in new sewerage and water infrastructure The Clarence is worth about $1.7 billion in Gross Regional Product (GRP), and growing steadily at about 0.6% each year. The Clarence contributes around 17% to the gross regional product of the Northern Rivers region which is valued at $9.8 billion. Just 3 hours down the road from Brisbane, with a population of 52,000 residents (and growing fast), perfect climate, and a bounty of rural, hinterland, coastal and city lifestyle and business options on offer the Clarence is fast becoming the relocation destination of choice.
