In November 2016, the Oil and Gas Climate Initiative (OGCI) launched a billion-dollar investment vehicle: Climate Investments. We invest in technologies that have the potential to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions and that are economically viable. We are building a global network of partners and co-investors to achieve speed and scale. Our focus is on innovative companies with promising technology and business models that are ready to be commercialised. We are looking to work with driven and experienced entrepreneurs and teams that have the determination to turn their innovations into outcomes. Our aim is to catalyse the development and deployment of the technology and business models that show the greatest potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. We have four focus areas: carbon capture, utilisation and storage; reducing methane emissions; reducing transport emissions and improving energy efficiency in the industry. In 2017, we invested in a range of ventures that we have identified can make the most impact on greenhouse gas emissions. Highlights include: the Clean Gas Project and Solidia Technologies (carbon capture, utilisation and storage) and Archates Power (reducing transport emissions).
