In September 2016 Tameside Hospital NHS FT became Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS FT. This new hospital is responsible for running the acute hospital services as well as community health services in Tameside and Glossop. Serving a population of over 250,000 residents, Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS FT was one of the first NHS organisations in the country to develop and implement an integrated care model for its local population. This means that the organisation not only treats patients when they are unwell, but actively seeks to keep people out of hospital by providing excellent advice; local services and groups to keep people well.
