About
Family Promise of Morris County (FPMC) was created in 1988, in response to the growing number of homeless families in Morris County, NJ. We provide a continuum of programs and services to the community including shelter; a community support and outreach program, transitional housing for those impacted by domestic violence, a housing voucher program that consists of over 40 vouchers from various government sources, and a drop-in center in downtown Morristown. FPMC mobilizes community resources and people to end the crisis of homelessness faced by Morris County families and individuals; providing a continuum of services leading to self-sufficiency. Family Promise of Morris County is a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization modeled after Family Promise (formerly Interfaith Hospitality Network) started in Union County in 1986. This program has been replicated nationwide, involving 180,000 volunteers from 6,000 congregations and organizations through over 200 affiliates in over 43 states and serving over 700,000 individuals since its founding In everything we do, in every decision we make, FPMC will adhere to these values: The right to self-determination of the people we serve; Non-judgmental attitude; Family first, regardless of family status; Empowerment vs. enabling; Mutual respect and integrity.
