The Roanoke Valley Broadband Authority (RVBA) is an open-access, carrier grade, internet network built through the forward looking initiative of local business leaders, concerned citizens, and four local municipalities; The City of Salem, The City of Roanoke, Roanoke County and Botetourt County. The authority designed, built, and manages the regions first, and only, open-access fiber-optic internet network. Focused on economic development, the RVBA is seeking to increase high-speed, enterprise broadband accessibility, reliability, and capacity while driving down average end-user costs and reducing barriers to entry for innovative new companies wishing to invest in the region.
