The United Nations Major Group for Children and Youth (UN-MGCY) is the United Nations General Assembly-mandated, official, formal and self-organised space and mechanism for children and youth (under 30) to contribute to and engage in certain intergovernmental and allied policy processes at the United Nations. We engage in 25+ avenues of engagement, consulting with 6,500+ youth entities in 170+ countries. The mission of the UN-MGCY is to act as a bridge between children and youth, and the UN system in order to ensure their right to meaningful participation is realized.
