About
History The Milwaukee Christian Center (MCC) was founded in 1921 by the American Baptist Church to reach out to newly arrived immigrants and the poor. Today, MCC serves a diverse population on Milwaukee's South Side, regardless of faith, ethnicity, or age. From children to seniors, we exist to move people beyond the challenges of poverty while meeting their specific cultural needs. Our programs continue to adapt to the changing needs of our diverse participants. MCC serves over 7,500 unduplicated individuals and families each year who live primarily in the 53204 and 53215 zip codes, with up to 750 unduplicated individuals and families served outside these zip codes. MCC's staff consists of 63 full-time and 36 part-time paid employees. Approximately 100 volunteers assist us with our efforts throughout the year. Mission MCC believes all people deserve to be treated with compassion and respect. We exist to move people beyond the challenges of poverty through life-affirming programs and supportive services. Vision MCC is a beacon of hope for the impoverished by compassionately guiding people out of poverty to create a community where suffering is alleviated, the inherent value of each person is cherished, and opportunities abound
