Pathkeeper Surgical is a medical device company utilizing AI and 3D imaging to create a paradigm shift in spinal surgeries. At present, there are 5 million spinal surgeries taking place annually worldwide, with a success rate of 20%-30%. This is due to the lack of real-time imaging and navigation assistance throughout surgery. While navigation systems do exist, they are costly and use CT images combined with still shots, not taking into account patient movement while the surgery is taking place. Pathkeeper has developed the first Machine-Vision Image Guided Surgery system that allows spine surgeons to perform radiation-free spinal navigation while remaining cost-effective. Our Spine Navigation System provides real-time 3D images using machine-vision and proprietary camera-based technology throughout the surgery, leveraging machine-vision to segmentally register individual vertebrae in seconds, accounting for intersegmental motion, and maintaining accuracy throughout the entire procedure. The real-time feedback allows surgeons to be 5X more accurate in screw placement versus the best robotic navigation systems that exist today. Moreover, Pathkeeper has reduced the entire workflow time to less than 15 seconds for patient registration in contrast to the 30 minutes it takes competitor's systems to register their patients. Additionally, the system's low cost of goods and bills of material ensure that the device will be affordable to both big hospitals and small clinics, thereby catering to a diverse clientele.
