About
Founded in 1995, the Asian/Pacific Islander Domestic Violence Resource Project (DVRP) is a 501c (3) nonprofit organization that works to prevent domestic violence in the Asian and Pacific Islander (A/PI) communities in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. DVRP has helped the lives of hundreds of women and families through its direct services advocates program. DVRP's staff, board of directors and volunteers offer a diverse range of cultural competency and language skills including Bengali, Chinese, Filipina, Hmong, Japanese, Korean, Irani, Indian, Nepali, Pakistani, and Vietnamese. They are also members of various religious communities including Christian, Hindu, Muslim and Buddhist. DVRP has built a reputation in the non-profit professional circles of D.C. as the only pan-Asian organization in the Washington DC metropolitan area with multilingual and multicultural domestic violence expertise.
