About
In September, 2008, Cypress Semiconductor acquired Simtek. The new Cypress/Simtek team will continue to supply the market with nvSRAM, the integrated 'Fast SRAM + non-volatile' memory product lines developed by Simtek over the last two decades. Our memory ICs behave like fast SRAM’s, with blazing access speeds to keep up with today’s top microprocessors and microcontrollers. Then, on any sudden power change or power outage, data is locked in, retaining the current SRAM state data in non-volatile memory until power is again stable and SRAM operation can resume. Our customers include most top-tier suppliers of computers, industrial and military equipment; suppliers who appreciate the 20 year reputation of attention to quality and customer support that Simtek has built. Today, you will find our products in over 70% of the direct-attach RAID subsystems worldwide. We are also widely used in automated meter reading (AMR), telecom and datacom systems, avionics, medical devices, multi-functional printers (MFPs), industrial control, GPS navigational systems, robotics, automotive, radar, sonar and smart weapons. Because of the robustness of our SONOS process technology, our products support commercial, industrial and military temperatures and quality standards.
