New stores, restaurants and other establishments pop up constantly along Highway 74 while farmlands continue to grow crops and serve as pastureland for animals and livestock. \r\n\r\nMonroe provides excellent recreational options for residents of all ages. There are parks, various recreational facilities, ball fields, tennis courts, Monroe Aquatics and Fitness Center , Monroe Country Club and Ellen Fitzgerald Senior Center. The city even has future plans to include a greenway to connect all of the city's parks. \r\n\r\nWith a boast of amenities such as these, it is no wonder Monroe is an up-and-coming city.
