It is irresponsible to verify a user based on a simple photo of an ID document and a selfie as : - it provides a poor UX (high failure rate and numerous retries due to picture blurriness and glare on the ID document) - it is impossible to detect an ID document fraud based on a single photo (no hologram check, no plasticity detection) - it is super easy to spoof a face picture We use video live streaming and AI in real time for both ID documents and face recognition because it is the only way to : - Interact and guide the user; - Detect ID document's movements, plasticity and holograms; - And assess face liveness and face matching properly.
