Solvias AG has been founded in 1999 as a spin-off from the Novartis Group. With a background of more than 20 years as the central scientific services of Ciba Geigy and Novartis 200 employees are working in the areas of analytic- and synthesis under certified QM systems. Customers are pharmaceutical, agrochemical, fine chemicals and nutrition companies, as well as small companies with chemical infrastructure. Of special interest for the reader are the following services: Bioanalytics Solvias is offering DNA sequencing and applications of the PCR technology. We provide the highest capacity for DNA analysis within the BioValley. We support scientists, physicians and laboratories in the entire process from assay development to routine screening with reliable services. In particular we provide solutions for genetic diagnostics. Our DNA sequencing service combines most recent technology and experience in large-scale sequencing projects. We run an ABI 3700 96-parallel CE sequencer integrated into a robotic system with a capacity of over 600 samples per day. Standard services include sequence screening, single and double strand sequencing of plasmids, cosmids, phages, PCR products and BACs, as well as special applications like mutant screening and heterozygous analysis. In the field of PCR applications we provide method optimization and validation, as well as setting up and running routine assays. Both conventional and Real Time PCR (ABI PRISM 7700) are also supported by robots.
