About
Seismic surveying technology is a crucial link in addressing the energy needs of a growing world population. This technique makes use of large-scale sensor networks to non-invasively image underground structures. In this way energy companies can effectively pinpoint potential hydrocarbon and geothermal reserves, and utilise existing resources more efficiently. Innoseis delivers wireless sensor solutions that are designed from the ground up to be ultra-low power and scalable to a million nodes. The ultra-low power performance of our technology means less battery capacity is required resulting in significantly smaller sensor nodes, without compromising on seismic signal fidelity. The cost effectiveness of our technology also provides the industry with the opportunity to constantly monitor production reservoirs to exploit them more effectively and hence greatly increase return on capital expenditure. Innoseis is a spin-off company of Nikhef, the Dutch National Institute for Subatomic Physics and is committed to the transfer of fundamental research to industrial applications. Besides ultra-low power sensor networks our expertise also extends to novel (seismic) sensing and read-out techniques including MEMS technology. In addition our vibration isolation systems are used to generate ultra-low vibration environments - with this technology we have created the ‘quietest place on Earth' in our laboratory.
