The mean age here is 39 years, which is clearly less than the state average. We have close to 15,000 inhabitants. We are conveniently located close to the city of Joensuu, highway 6 and the airport. We also have good local services. We have diverse opportunities for sport activities. Kontiolahti is world-renowned for its biathlon competitions and the stadium area provides excellent facilities for sports. The artificially cooled skiing path makes for a longer season of skiing than usual and the paths are suitable for different levels of skiers.
