Cal Poly's College of Science and Mathematics is where science, mathematics, the art of teaching and California's Central Coast intersect. Learn by Doing The university's Learn by Doing philosophy means our students can work with their professors on everything from laser mapping of ocean floors to atomic particle colliders to statistical analysis for real-world research projects. Small Classes Our small classes and labs are all taught by faculty — faculty committed to serving as mentors and creating a close environment. Our college developed the 25-35 study program to help our students excel academically.
