The NZ Transport Agency creates transport solutions for a thriving New Zealand. We achieve this through our four core business functions: 1. Planning the land transport network 2. Providing access to and use of the land transport system 3. Investing in land transport 4. Managing the state highway network. The Transport Agency is responsible for contributing to an affordable, integrated, safe, responsive and sustainable land transport system. This involves the planning and funding of land transport. It involves the enforcement of laws, regulations and rules, and the collection of revenue. It also involves ensuring New Zealanders have access to land transport, including through building, operating and maintaining land transport systems.
