About
AMIRS is the non-partisan, student-run International Relations Society at American University. Since 1947, AMIRS has transformed the college experience for thousands of American University students through pioneering, experiential programming. Throughout the years, our mission has remained the same: to stimulate debate on international issues through a variety of programming. Today, AMIRS is the largest student-run organization on American University’s campus. As an institution, The American University International Relations Society functions as an umbrella organization for AmeriMUNC & WIRC, two of the largest Model United Nations Conference in the Northeast United States, the American University Model United Nations team, currently ranked 5th in North America, The International Affairs Symposium, SIS’ student run speaker series, and the Programming Board, which brings the branches together community based social and academic programming.
