Our Mission: To empower the entrepreneurial spirit through the dignity of self-employment by providing Chicagoans facing homelessness with a combination of supportive social services, workforce development resources, and immediate access to gainful employment. By focusing on immediate income, job readiness and placement services, supportive employment, and financial and computer literacy, we provide individuals that are willing to work with a stable foundation from which they can move themselves out of the crisis of poverty. Since it’s founding in 1992, over 13,000 of our neighbors have benefited from the income, training, and social service supports provided by StreetWise.
