Our Therapeutic Approach
Understanding our relational psychodynamic approach to therapy can give you a sense of how psychotherapy can help. By focusing on emotions and how they surface in a relational context, relational psychotherapy seeks to discover hidden pieces of who you are and then to understand how those pieces fit together.
Psychotherapy ? Focused on Emotions
Our relational approach uncovers often-subconscious emotions to help you feel more empowered in life. By understanding a problem?s origin, you can change behavior and reverse destructive patterns.
To get at these emotions, therapist and client look for coping tactics you may have adopted early in life. While they may have seemed helpful at the time, these adaptive behaviors have a way of causing problems of their own. Often, deep, unexplored emotions are responsible for triggers, symptoms and other issues such as eating disorders, depression and anxiety.
Relational ? Focused on You
For you, there?s only one route toward authenticity and peace. Yours. You are unique. So is your journey. There is no road map, no predetermined process, no set number nor order of steps. You can get there when there?s an alliance between therapist and client that?s collaborative, dynamic, and unique.
