ZanaAfrica believes access to sanitary pads and related health education is a basic human right - denied to four in five women and girls across East Africa due to current prices and distribution challenges. Through local production of radically affordable sanitary pads coupled with relevant information, ZanaAfrica creates new opportunities for women and girls to thrive as focused students, productive workers, and informed mothers. By informing pro-girl policy through data, ZanaAfrica helps pads to be entrenched in national budgets for schoolgirls. ZanaAfrica is an award-winning hybrid social enterprise: a Kenyan company with a US Subsidiary, and a supporting US 501(c3) non-profit.
