Established in 1962, Szczecińska Energetyka Cieplna (SEC) is a district heating and electricity deliverer and producer operating on three Polish voivodeships: West Pomerania, Pomerania and Lubusz. Its heating system is considered as one of most diversify in Poland because of five sources of electricity generation: coal, gas, biomass, cogeneration and waste incineration. Currently, it is a part of the E.ON concern, one of the main players in the European energy sector. Another key shareholder of SEC is the municipality of the City of Szczecin.
