Bigfork Valley is a special experience. A 20 bed critical access hospital located in the woods of northern Minnesota, right outside Bigfork (pop. 469), Bigfork Valley is nationally known for offering a great patient experience along with an excellent facility and a Top Workplace environment for its 230+ employees, with a priority on developing quality medical skills. Our federal hospital patient satisfaction survey puts us consistently at or near the top of Minnesota’s reporting hospitals. Our providers are part of Scenic Rivers Health Services’ onsite medical clinic with five family practitioners who all live locally and staff our emergency department 24/7 with physician coverage. When patients come to Bigfork Valley, they can expect quality diagnostics with extensive imaging and laboratory equipment, a surgery center that supports hip and knee replacement surgery as well as general surgeries and chronic pain management, and rehab physical and occupational therapists who work closely with the patient’s medical team. A retail pharmacy, chiropractic clinic and nutritional services are also on campus. For visitors, there is the Wanigan – a cafeteria open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. with hot lunch in the middle of the day - a gift shop and a 24/7 community membership fitness center with a daily option. Specialists are available through the Specialty Clinic, and an outreach medical clinic is located 20 miles away in Balsam. The medical campus at Bigfork Valley also supports a continuum of elder care and living options from Home Care and Adult Day Stay to senior apartments and Twin Homes, assisted living and a nursing home, Tamarack Lodge.
