Our mission at employU is to empower our clients with knowledge, connections, and the confidence required to embark on a new sustainable career. employU, Inc. is a Florida non-profit entity under section 501(c)3 and is an employment service matching individuals who are primarily referred by the State of Florida Department of Education Vocational Rehabilitation Office to the appropriate work environment. We strive to provide the guidance, direction and ongoing support necessary to sustain long-term careers. employU currently services 35 counties in the State of Florida Our goal is to support persons with disabilities prepare for, become and retain long term employment. Our Assessment Program helps find the right job fit. They consider one's background, personality and interests to comprise reasonable and available options for a job goal. Our adult Employment Service is designed to acquire long term employment. Employ-ability skills training drastically improves ones skills on how to win the position. Interview training and high levels of activity get the candidate in front of the right employers. Once employed job coaching helps ensure they keep the position and gain valuable skills. employU's youth program is designed to provide life skills and employment experience to students with IEPs and/or a 504 in school. Employment training and Self Advocacy courses teach the skills one will need to be successful. Paid on the job training "internships"â?? give them the real work experience that will reduce the anxiety and fear of becoming employed. These experiences sharpen their skills and confidence to prepare them for future success when they are ready for permanent employment.
