What Is eStem Public Charter Schools?

Since opening in the summer of 2008, the eStem Public Charter Schools have endeavored to create a student-centered, collaborative, and innovative learning environment in the heart of the state of Arkansas. Located in the thriving financial district of downtown Little Rock, our schools currently serve more than 1,400 students who reflect the racial, ethnic, and economic diversity of the city. Our schools are regularly recognized for the strong academic achievement and growth of our students. We attribute this success to our unique school culture focused on humility, enthusiasm, authenticity, reflection, and trust. Our name is derived from an acronym representing five pillars of a 21st century educational experience: economics, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. We believe these academic areas serve as the foundation for a comprehensive, interdisciplinary educational approach for all students. As a system of three open enrollment public charter schools, our doors are open to any student who is a resident of the state of Arkansas. We are not affiliated with any local school district but are contractually accountable directly to the Arkansas State Board of Education. Due to the extremely high number of applicants our schools receive, we conduct random, anonymous lotteries during the month of March each year to determine which students will be offered the opportunity to enroll at eStem.
