York Archaeological Trust (YAT) is a self-funded educational charity and one of the leading professional archaeological organisations in the UK. Founded in 1972, we have a reputation for delivering high quality investigation, research and public engagement for a broad range of clients and partners.\n\nOperating across the country and internationally, with offices in York, Glasgow, Sheffield and Nottingham, we also run five city-centre attractions in York including the world-famous JORVIK Viking Centre, and one of the largest Viking Festival in Europe.\n\nWith extensive public, community and educational audiences, we engage with over 1.2 million people across the world each year, through our attractions, events, projects, educational programmes, touring exhibitions, outreach activities and digital presence.
